Welcome to Cloth Ears & CO, the title for my creative work.  After years teaching and and running an alternative provision, I had stored away an idea for a  children’s story with the ambition to write and illustrate. The concept was inspired by the young people I work with. Whom for what ever reason struggle with adversity and suffer with low self esteem  and confidence. Together with my husband John and our small team of staff we hope to enrich young peoples lives.

Cloth Ears and the Circus is a story of triumph over adversity, ability over disability. This is a book aimed at young children but also at adults who appreciate children’s book illustration. I have been delighted to be invited to schools to do book reading and  workshops to discuss the issue facing  the character of Cloth Ears.

Since then I have used Cloth Ears to develop art work in print, digital paint and textiles steadily developing my own practice. With a growing sense of urgency to develop my practice and to exhibit work.

Cloth Ears and the Circus is the first of three  children’s books  Cloth Ears and the Christmas gift and Cloth Ears and Buffy the Bird Tamer.
